A prospective client can encounter your firm before they search for a lawyer. The decision is whether that exposure has a useful role in your growth plan. We connect paid video and display with a clear message, a relevant next step and a way to evaluate the inquiries that follow.
YouTube and display campaigns, with Performance Max evaluated where its broader reach fits the firm.
Start with the firm
Expand your reach with a defined purpose.
You may want people in a new market to recognize your firm, help prospective clients understand a service, or support an established search campaign. Those are different jobs. We start by choosing one and deciding what evidence would justify continued spending.
For a firm with limited budget or unanswered inquiries, more exposure may not be the immediate priority. We review the role of video and display within your paid media strategy, including the time your attorneys can contribute and the capacity of the team answering calls.
What the engagement covers
A plan your team can act on.
01
Choose the moment and message.
We organize the campaign around the people you want to reach and the decision they face. A short introduction to a local injury firm has a different job from an explanation of employment counsel for a business owner. The creative should make that job clear without overstating results or suggesting that an ad establishes an attorney-client relationship.
02
Build creative for the placement.
We plan the script, imagery, captions and next step around where the ad will appear. A vertical video needs to work on a phone; a display image has little room to explain a service. Production responsibilities, attorney approvals and the number of creative versions belong in the scope before the campaign begins.
03
Give each campaign appropriate controls.
For YouTube and display, we review the available locations, audiences, placements and exclusions against the firm’s practice and objective. Legal-service targeting is not unrestricted. We assess the actual content and platform rules before using visitor audiences or client information, rather than assuming every prospective client can be followed around the web.
04
Decide whether Performance Max belongs.
Standard Performance Max can serve across Search, YouTube, Display and other Google inventory from one campaign. It is not a YouTube-only or Search-only purchase. We assess its conversion goals, creative needs and reporting before recommending it, and review available channel reporting so a combined total does not obscure where results originated.
05
Make the next step worth taking.
The ad and destination should tell the same story. We assess whether an existing service page answers the visitor’s questions or whether a dedicated landing page is warranted. The website experience, contact options and intake response need to support the campaign’s promise.
We review engagement and inquiry rates separately. More clicks do not necessarily mean more suitable contacts; fewer clicks can still produce useful inquiries. When the pattern changes, we examine the audience, creative, destination and measurement together before deciding where the next dollar belongs.
Bring your goals, current campaigns, and questions. We’ll discuss where this channel fits.
Google’s published video-ad illustration shows the player and overlay experience. The message, visual, and next step must work together even when someone was not actively searching for a lawyer.
This conceptual product illustration explains a format. It is not a Juris client campaign or a performance report. YouTube, display, and cross-channel campaigns require different creative and measurement choices.

From attention to an outcome
See what happens after someone watches.
A video view, a website visit and a retained client are different events. We agree on the campaign’s purpose and reporting before launch. Exposure metrics can explain delivery; inquiry and intake records help explain whether the campaign is reaching people the firm can serve.
Where the data supports it, we connect campaign sources with later outcomes. Gaps stay visible, and platform-attributed results remain distinct from proof that the advertising caused a new case.
01
Separate exposure from action.
Review reach, impressions, views and clicks using the definitions of the actual format. Keep click-through, engaged-view and view-through attribution distinguishable where reported. A person who saw an ad and later contacted the firm should not be silently counted as someone who clicked it.
02
Record qualification and retention.
Use the firm’s intake criteria to record which inquiries fit, which consultations occur and which people retain the firm. Agree on what confirms a signed client, and keep administrative matter opening separate if it happens later. Remove duplicate inquiries before comparing sources.
03
Make the next spending decision.
Review media cost alongside creative, management and other agreed costs. Where signing data is sufficient, calculate cost per attributed signed client using a consistent period. Where it is not, report that limitation and decide whether to revise the campaign, continue a bounded test or stop.
Investment & fit
Fund the test and the work behind it.
Your plan should distinguish platform spend from creative production, management, landing-page work and measurement setup. A cheap video view does not establish a cheap inquiry, and a target cost per conversion is not a guaranteed price for a client.
Billing depends on the format and bidding setup: video can involve views, impressions or engagements, and display is not always purchased on a pay-per-click basis. We explain the selected arrangement before launch and set a review point tied to spending and usable evidence, not a promise of results by an arbitrary date.

Before you commit
Practical questions. Clear answers.
The decisions that shape your scope, budget, and expectations.
Are YouTube ads the same as making videos for our channel?
No. Publishing a useful video and paying to distribute an advertisement are separate activities. An existing video may be adaptable, but paid placements have their own formats, messaging and campaign requirements. We define production and advertising responsibilities together so you know what is included.
Is this a replacement for Google Search advertising?
It can serve a different purpose. Search can meet someone expressing a need in a query; video and display can introduce the firm while someone watches or browses. The allocation depends on your market, current demand, budget and evidence from intake. Every firm does not need every format.
Can you retarget everyone who visits our website?
We do not assume that is available or appropriate. Some legal interests involve sensitive circumstances, and platform policies restrict certain audience uses. We review your practice, content, proposed audience and data use before choosing a targeting approach.
Does Performance Max mean Local Services Ads?
Standard Performance Max can reach multiple Google networks. The specialized pay-per-lead campaigns replacing eligible Local Services Ads retain Search and Maps placements. We check the actual product before describing its controls or billing.
For an LSA migration, preserve performance reports before the move; Google says they will not transfer. Current migration guidance, checked September 11, 2026.
How will we know whether the campaign brought cases?
We need reliable source and intake records, including retention outcomes. Campaign reports alone cannot establish that connection. We reconcile what can be matched, distinguish reporting windows and missing data, and keep attributed signed clients separate from views, forms and booked calls.
What do you need from our attorneys?
Your priorities, approved service claims, relevant locations and a person who can review creative. We also need clarity about intake ownership and available assets. If filming or additional production is needed, we agree on that work and its cost before relying on it in the plan.
Bring your target matters, markets and current campaigns. We will discuss whether paid video and display have a useful role, what the test would require and how your firm would judge it.
